Meteobot® helps you control plant diseases. The weather data from your field or orchard can be automatically transmitted to disease models, which can generate forecasts for plant disease risks.
How do models work?
The models contain rules and algorithms, obtained from scientific research and many field trials. These rules and algorithms take into account rain, temperature, air humidity, leaf wetness, solar radiation, etc.
Wheat and barley models, for example, contain built-in information about the phenological stages of plant development and the yield risk. The resistance (or tolerance) to diseases of different crop varieties is also incorporated in the models.
Based on all of these features, the models provide a dynamic forecast for the expected moment and the degree of the infection risk.
The purpose is to spray only when necessary and with the most adequate product.
DISEASE FORECASTING MODEL FOR APRICOTS, PEACHES, PLUMS, CHERRIES AND SOUR CHERRIES
The forecasting model helps fruit growers to control the risk of following major diseases:
• Brown rot
• White rust
DISEASE MODEL FOR VINE
Meteobot® helps grapes producers with models for forecasting the risk of:
• Grape downy mildew (Plasmopara Viticola);
• Grape black rot.
DISEASE MODEL FOR APPLES
Meteobot® has an integration with the Dutch platform for apple disease control RIMpro.It enables you to spray on germinating spores even during light rain. The platform provides models for diseases and insects listed below, as well as a model prototype to choose the best time to reduce fruit densit.
•Apple scab;
•Fire blight (Erwinia amylovora);
•Apple powdery mildew (currently – in prototype);
•Sooty blotch;
•Apple sawfly;
•Codling moth;
•Apple canker;
•Marssonina coronaria;
DISEASE MODEL FOR BARLEY
The model provides a risk forecast for the following barley diseases:
• Powdery mildew;
• Leaf blotch;
• Net blotch;
• Brown leaf rust;
• Fusarium head blight;
• Mycotoxins in grain;
The model also contains recommendations for nitrogen application. They are especially important for brewing barley, where the protein content should be high enough, and in the same time should be below a certain upper limit.
DISEASE MODEL FOR WHEAT
To help grain growers, Meteobot® has an integration with Horta, a model for forecasting the following soft and durum wheat diseases:
• Yellow stripe rust;
• Brown leaf rust;
• Septoria leaf blotch (Septoria tritici);
• Stagonospora nodorum;
• Powdery mildew (Oidium);
• Fusarium head blight;
• Mycotoxins in grain;
